Q.  Can the windshield crack out completely during the repair?

A.  Yes, there is always a slim possibility that during the repair procedure       the chip will run completely across the windshield.

          Since the glass is already broken before the repair effort begins, you         have not lost anything if the attempt to repair your windshield is               unsuccessful.
