Computerized Windshield Repair Comes to Northern Virginia!

Alexandria, Virginia, January 3, 1996 - Every vehicle owner dreads the sound of a stone careening off of their windshield as they drive along our region's busy highways. In the Washington Metropolitan area, construction goes on year round, with the associated trucks leaving debris on just about all roads and creating hazardous conditions that cause untold thousands of "dinged" windshields for area motorists.

Windshield repair technology has existed for more than 25 years, however, the recent introduction of computerized repair equipment and vastly improved resins has caused the insurance industry to jump on the bandwagon by extolling the benefits of windshield rock chip repair versus replacement. The repair restores the structural integrity of the glass without the windshield being removed from the vehicle, so the factory seal is not disturbed and there are no annoying air or water leaks generated from the repair.

Dominion Windshield Repair, Inc., in Alexandria, is a mobile windshield repair company that has recently invested in state of the art windshield repair equipment - a computerized system to repair windshield dings. Mike Burstein, President of Dominion Windshield Repair, Inc., states "studies have shown that 85% of all stone damaged windshields can be repaired and that one in six vehicles on the road has windshield damage. With the average windshield today costing around $300, the cost savings to both the insured and the insurance companies is tremendous. That's why insurance companies are happy to waive the comprehensive deductible and reimburse their policy holder."

What most vehicle owners don't realize is that the comprehensive portion of their automobile's insurance policy will pay 100% of the repair cost of their stone damaged windshield! (The deductible will be waived for repair only!) Even for those without full coverage, the repair cost is far cheaper that the cost of replacing a windshield.

According to Burstein, another benefit of repair is the fact that "since windshields cannot be recycled, our landfills don't need millions of them piling up every year when they could have been repaired instead of replaced."

Burstein, who has repaired over 4000 windshields in the last two years, selected the fully computerized Eliminator repair system, produced by Glass Technology, Inc. of Durango,  Colorado, as the most effective repair system currently available. A windshield repair takes 20-30 minutes and has a lifetime guarantee against further cracking.
